Ok, so you had a sneak peak into the new Proton Savvy here. Now, if you don’t have the time to the showroom, and you haven’t seen the real car, here are the photos of the real Proton Savvy.
By the way, Proton Savvy is way below my expectation. The interior is horribly ugly and the materials used are .. well, not of high standards, I must say. But I believe it will considerably affect the sales of Perodua Kelisa. Myvi? No way.
Enjoy the photo show. Excuse me for the quality of these photos, it was taken using my phone.

Any comparison between Savvy and MyVi?
Phew.. How relieved that I have kept my booking on a MyVi.. Mahathir and Mahaleel isn’t taking Proton anywhere close to Perodua..
The body is ok for a car this price but that Renault engine is tsk tsk bringing back those ugly scares of Proton Tiara; the joke of the decade. Howcome Proton no more using Mitsubishi engine or even Mazda or Nissan engine. Campro brings street girlish giggles and lotus so Lama-ish; what now Renault, a car once toots the local jalan during WW II era. Lousy business strategy. Did Hicom did any market \ customer research, I was very disappointed, now I have to re-consider MyVision n the upgraded Iswara aero-knight. CBU very nice but also very expensive too.
Proton must have hurt you badly that you have given such a strong comment. However, do not be too quick to judge.
When Mitsubishi selling stake in Proton, everyone was saying Proton die la.. guess what, Mitsubishi got problem..
Who owns more than 40% of Nissan? Renault brother!
I believe Proton will make it with the “Savvy”. I have placed booking for Savvy and it is a good car.
Syabus Proton! Thank God I didn’t booked that Myvi car. To compare the front of both cars, the Savvy is already way ahead of the Myvi. The rear side of the Myvi, Oh gosh!! The Myvi with the hugh rear bumper makes it look so cartoon especially when the tyres is soon thin!
Just look at the Savvy. With the rear contour linings, centre exhaust pipe outlet and the honey comb rear brake lights I would buy this car even without looking at how the front of the car looks like!
Hope Proton would release the Savvy with more colour choice such as
Lighting Silver, Sporty Yellow etc.
Very best of luck to you.. you’ll need it
Just seen the Savvy.. it sucks..
If Proton don’t take their car seriously why should potential customers, of whom I could have been one.
The idiotic cartoon book ads. say it all, and nothing of use.
Safety - where are the airbags and ABS (so basic these days)?
Engine - it’s said they started by first deciding on the Renault engine. Why? It’s a doggy engine at best of times and too small, unrefined and makes the car gutless with more than one passenger.
Space - yeah, rear headroom like the Gen 11!
Wow, now we get a glovebox.
Why no rear electric windows - why of why is so much deleted compared with Myvi, Swift, Picanto, etc etc?
The Renault engine might, just might, help European sales, but early inspection and past reputation, suggest quality will not.
The styling shows some originality which is good but bad mismatching of grey and tan inside lets this down badly. No class, no taste.
Proton Savvy is our national car maker’s gift to Perodua - Myvi will kill it on practicality, performance and probably durability thanks to Toyota engine, materials look and feel and past performance by Kancil,Kelisa etc.
So sad - so bad - so unsavvy Savvy.
Sometimes Proton give me the impression that it is a political and national movement more than anything else. As a pure car manufacturer that wants to tell the world Malaysia are on the map? It does that by telling the world they should laugh at us, not take us as a threat.Even with the genius influence and pedigree of Lotus we create cars made from dustbin plastics. Well thought out engineering, design and planning all going back to where it came from, the plastic dustbin.
But what about Proton’s profits? Are they making any? How much are Proton paying for the parts and if they are costly, why is the quality so low? I guess the targeted market would not mind so much. I mean, we only have ourselves to look at and sell. The Proton Saga still has a brochue yet its platform came from the 1985 original car yet the many Malaysians cannot tell the difference. From a global point of view, even with the help of Lotus Engineering Ltd, Proton will die and are selling cars even TATA won’t dare think off. But inside malaysia, it is surviving against the competition thanks to the tax system. Any now we have out new mobile dustbin, the savvy
new mobile dustbin to SAVVY from haha
Firstly, syabas proton !
Savvy is realy ahead of Myvi. Do compare their interior and exterior. Thank God I didn’t booked Myvi car too. Any one had pass through Myvi when it is running on the road ? It is true, Myvi with the hugh rear bumper makes it look so cartoon especially when the tyres is soon thin!
proton really need help….?? i think the design of myvi is much more better than savy!
You know,a lot of guys said the Savvy looks like the Suzuki Swift.
Never believed it until I actually saw 1 this morning. My goodness.
When will they ever hire a proper design crew??
i’ve seen it and i like it and if you think it sucks i’ll say F*** YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
It is safer to SUCK than to FUCK..
i like the exterior look of savvy…..myvi looks like too big n give me a ‘weird’ look feeling.the interior big huge grey cd player also looks so ugly in the middle….
the proton salemen said that i can get savvy within 1 mont period just from the booking till the car drop in. so faster.. you know why… tak laku le brader… my vi kena tungu 3 bulan…laku..
Recently went to the perodua and the proton shops which are side by side. Immediately captured by the myvi.
Tried the ultimate door closing test. Noticed the myvi close almost like toyota. v firm and tough.
The savvy , tried to close the rear door and notice it could not close properly like my perdana.
conclusion only a car some proton CEO or salesman would defend or love.
savvy is for gay
I already booked suzuki swift
The Savvy really does drive well. Looking fwd to an un biased report on the Savvy. Go Proton, I’m look fwd to seeing the modified Savvy’s tearing around. Stop with the ooops I lost my vi tality hype. Why does verybody enjoy taking cheap shots at Proton? If you have nothing good to say then just give it a rest.
Perodua has been alerted of this problem with the left rear drum brake. Perodua Myvi owners with chassis number PM2M301S002000001 to PM2M301S002002500 should send your cars back to the Service Center to see whether your car is affected and fix the problem.
hahaha just as i thought rush to get it on the market b4 the Savvy. stay tuned there will be a lot more my vitamin problems, thats why they have such a long delivery date…7 months. All the peole who have booked your myvii good luck
My friends said the Myvvi rear looks like a fat lady with a big bump. While I was driving yesterday a Pe2 Myvvi overtake me, seeing is believing, what I saw of the Myvi from the rear is like a fat lady with a big bump so…. ugggly. From the front its just like a bull toad.
The Proton Savvy looks sleekier ,solid, sportier and powerful.
dear savvy supporter, actually i was ashock tht u people said savvy was nice, sporty looking car, some idiot still said tht lucky i didnt book some others car and so on…. for my opinion, those people who have booked the proton savvy must have be regret by now. For the first time i saw savvy exhibition, i was really really disapointed. how came… Malaysia doesnt have any talented car designer? created such a freak? Be honest i said that the interior was not bad but a bit small, the part tht i only like is the player control mode. and sorry to say tht the external is shit, a bit like honda city, some like bmw, air track, hyundai getz… and so and so… the back side is just terrible. look weird when u drive out… y i make this kind of comment is becoz i hope tht proton designer will designed a more nice looking car for the futurer time, do make own design, create some impresive work.. sorry and sympahty for those who hav brought Savvy.
huh…. brother, relax… i also think u are right. The proton sapi is suck. still came out with the stupid advetisement… “tought”. oh..my god, until now still no body dare to drive out, ha ha ha. be honest too, have u guys saw Savvy around? i think myvi is better than Savvy, dont u think? Or Savvy is better than Myvi?? nah.. dont be sily…..
heard on radio that myvi has over 20 000 bookings now but savvy still the alleged we can deliver , hope that we can, and soon our cylinder head supplier cause the delay when we have actually a lot of booking typpe of comments. so far no savvy figure? why ? shame that even perodua defeated proton. ha ha ha
let’s just get things straight…first of all, myvi doesn’t go anywhere near savvy..with it’s huge rear it looked a lot like a short lady with a big ass which you could say Malaysian(since we do have a lot of them in malaysia)…n compared to myvi..savvy has a tuv certificate 2 show that a lot has been done to make sure it’s safe…just like the typical malaysian going for design(my foot) n space where u can always buy a van or mpv for that purpose…if u want 2 get ur chances of getting killed on the road higher,i would say go for myvi since many malaysian still doesn’t want to think of safety eventhough we have a lot of accidents here…for me safety first, design second(anyway it’s a lot cooler than myvi) for those myvi enthusiast…fuck u…go to hell

To me, honestly said, I admire Savvy rather than Myvi because its sexy and sporty looks. Who cares about the aircond vent as long as its works should be OK. Performancewise..don’t know, never test drive yet. Interior looks nice compared to Myvi, the CD changer is much more stylish than the Myvi, the Iswara SE speedometer also stylish, gearknob stylish, parking brake stylish, exterior stylish, headlamp stylish, rearlamp stylish, everything stylish. The problem is, the gear, I think have to take time use to it, because normally we pull the gear backward to reverse, but the Savvy have to pull the (some kind of)ring and push it upward (next to 1st gear), just like the Volvo gear. I like the Black Midnight colour, very impressive..
Do you think those people in Perodua knows how to design a car? For me, Myvi is actually came out from the photostat machine but lack of ink. Savvy design is original, the only thing is the engine is from the Renault Clio. Renault has entered FI, what about Daihatsu?
La ni orang perodua tengah dok kalut buat myvi sebab tempahan dah berlambak..savvy pulak stok nya sedia ada, tunggu nak keluar, takut-takut kalau dah kalut tu, ada skru lupa nak pasang, QC pulak tak sempat nak check, orang dah tak sabaq tunggu, kot-kot nanti ada pulak ekzos myvi yang tercabut atau pintu yang luruh kat jalan, manalah tau…
From Autocar on line
‘My first Lotus’ for under £6k?
Budget Malaysian car brand Proton is extending its range in the UK with a baby brother for the Focus rival Gen-2. The Proton Savvy is already on sale in Malaysia and is due to hit the UK this autumn, aimed directly at the Fiat Panda, Kia Picanto and the new Chevrolet Matiz, with prices expected to start at under £6000.
Power comes from a 1149cc 16-valve engine producing 74bhp and 77lb ft of torque and mated to a five-speed manual transmission. It takes the Savvy from rest to 62mph in 12.6sec and on to a 106mph maximum. Healthy figures for a city car, but its makers are making bold claims for the Savvy, Proton CEO Tengku Tan Sri Mahaleel Tengku Ariff referring to it as ‘my first Lotus’ and ‘the car that’ll give you a taste of what it’s like to drive one of the world’s best handling vehicles’.
Ya la tu…. memang dua dua kereta suxs…. saya suka Toyota innova.
Do you know that daihatsu is toyota’s company? toyota also has entered F1 la.. so shame la u..
toyota Innova tu untuk org tua la dol.. harga pon mahal 100k
just got my myvi, the handling is better than the kembara as the centre of gravity is lower with wider width.
saw many myvi on the road.
interesting, l am buying malaysian product and notice some dumb proton lovers are still asking us to go to hell.
well they are always there, when you compare foreign car to proton, they scold you, when you buy local , they also scold you for not buying proton
l think proton will be happy to have proton fanatic faithful moron
l dare savvy to publish the sale figure.
or just heard the myvi waiting list is 8 months due to great overwhelming demand from the greater public.
l think it is 4000 cars per month produced with approaching 30 000 sales done. Savvy where are u?
also watched tv 3 auto show today, they actually test drive the myvi, so sorry again savvy, you must be hurt
again perudua manage to deliver the car faster then proton
be ware perodua if you do too good over proton, you would probably get taxed heavily to protect proton.

for the first time when i saw myvi on ads, i knew already that perodua already bring out genius design even they “tiru” it from other manufacturers. because the design, interior, engines is perfect for k-car model and then proton came out with this savvy - mawi stupid cars. it looks very terrible. WHY ?? proton always try to adopt high technology and design for supercars, race cars ?? but the performance, quality, and totally the whole cars especially now Savvy is totally sucks. I really sad because the gov. always back-up proton but for me perodua do things much much much better than proton even quality also good. proton think that they use a lot of technology for expensive car into their cars so that the car can sell very fast ?? or can sell high price ?? CRAZY man………. that is why until proton stil back-up by gov. because proton cannot make money compare with perodua and also proton is mahathir’s project. that is why proton is produce a lot of lousy cars now a day
myvi = daihatsu boon = toyota passo = toyota already in f1 ( are you blind or know nothing about what happen in autoworld or u want me to update u??)
proton savvy = sapi = lembu = proton designer pun mcm lembu
i agree 1000 % and more
tambah lagi le waiting period - 8 bulan daaa … kereta bagus mesti le org nak beli … savvy sbb takde buyer …
toyota innova buat kereta mayat ka, jual sayur ka, surat khabar lama ka … bole le … harga mahal tapi sucks juga le… aku tau le aku keje toyota ngong …
that is why proton is ahead of perodua (from back - while reverse) because their supporter try to spell syabas and the result is SYABUS … SYABUS IS WHAT ??? HELP ME BROTHER … MUNTAH ALREADY
OF COURSE LA CAN DRIVE WELL… WELL TO GAUNG LA!!NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO PROTON … BACK WARDS IS THE BEST VIEW FOR PROTON… I THINK U ARE THE FIRST ONE TO REST BECAUSE U`R TASTE IS DIE ALREADY?? THANK TO GOD
Did Toyota ever win a race? Daihatsu is under Toyota, Perodua is under Daihatsu, so which engine did Perodua using? Toyota or Daihatsu? I think its Daihatsu engine. Do you think Toyota will give their engine? Boleh blah..
Aku suka Toyota Aygo…nampak ego macam aku..harga dia murah dari Tiara..Jaquelina.

Recently had the opportunity to take the Savvy for a spin on the sepang F1
circuit… its true that TUV involvement has brought about massive
improvement in the built of this proton car….
the built quality is easily as good as the entry level cars of german
automotive manufacturer… without being overboard, i would like to add
then with a few more thousand units, proton would have fine tuned this high
quality to be producing top nothc cars….
in the meantime, SAVVY is mind blowingly wonderful to drive.
the pillars supporting the roof is thick, and this is instantly noticeable
when entering the car. …. its exactly as proton claimed, a strong body
prob three times the strength of larger cars… this strength certainly
adds to the overall rigidity of the car… the source of all things good
about the savvy…
…the ride is extraordinarily quiet for a small compact car…
attributed to the rigid body and proton’s improved NVH… the quiet ride
means the CLARION stereo could be enjoyed better.. and mind you, with 4
speakers two up front and two on rear passenger doors… it makes for an
excellent surround sound experience… i definitely recommend trying out
the sound system of the SAVVY is not anything else… bearing in mind,
this is a compact car… please don’t expect the BOSE sound system in the
newly launched audi A4 2.0 litre FSI turbo… that car is selling at
RM270,000…. a far cry from SAVVY… honestly, I don’t know the exact
selling price….
…the quiet ride brings about a comfortable drive, and very relaxing…
it would be a pleasure to take the Savvy for long drives, … and most
inter state drives would be a breeze for the Savvy…. although if owned
by a regular to genting highlands… it could be a bit dissapointing
because the car, if anything… is lacking in power…. but the 1.2
litre engine is always willing to rev to the redline witout making too much
noise… the noise coming at high revs is pleasant with the well tuned
exhaust system…. but it is nothing a small after market supercharger
cannot take care of… with the extra money saved in the purchase
price,… a super charger is not too far fetched to considered….
the wind noise is minimal at high speeds…. the tyre noise, despite being
low profile good year tyres… are far in the background… in the
scheme of things, taking into the price and the size of the car… I would
say, the sound effects of the tyre and wind noise… would be akin to a
E220 manufactured 1995.. and this is speaking from experience… would
like to note that the Savvy driven is new and this could be the
contributing factor… but with the TUV involved… it should be safe to
assume that this level of comfort should last for many years….
the drive and handling… initial feel was that the car was a bit
high…..mostly contributed by the high seating position… eventually…
things settle in and the driving position is accepted as one of the most
comfortable in the small car segment … legs are not cramped… for a
6′3″ driver… head room plentiful… manual gear shifts feels precise
and expensive… all this comfort transcends into a more lively
drive… the all round effect of the wide wind screen and front passenger
windows (All windows are originally factory tinted…the tpe that does not
use tinting films… giving the interior of the car a cosy feel..) give
the driver a very confident feel… the side view mirrors are well
positioned even for a above 6 foot tall driver…
it corners well… the suspension absorbing most of the road
imprefections… and the noise dampened by the improved NVH by Proton…
no doubt a skill passed on and perfected by Lotus engineers…there were no
unnerving cheap absorber sounds which was a regular Proton car
characteristics.. the suspension was almost…… german in feel…
quietly confident and… leaving the feeling that the driver is at the
helm of a much bigger and powerful car… this has to be experienced
yourself…
… overtaking on the highway is quick and precise… mostly overtaking
other cars on the road of bigger capacity…. hondas and toyotas were left
behind… this is not due to the power of the engine… but it was
entirely due to the comfortable drive… the quality of ride = quiet,
improved handling.., and precise steering feel… which combines to bring
about a confident drive… hence the spirited drive…
…the rear seats are comfortable… even for a 6 footer… the head room
however… leaves much to be desired…. BUT… it is almost easy to
discard as only a minor deterrence to owning the Savvy, because… most
Malaysians arent 6 footers… and the Savvy is not meant to carry a family
of 5 big adults… those should be driving an Estima,… even a Vios or
Civic would have hard time fitting that family…
The rear passenger ride comfort, without touching on leg room and head
room… is as described above… quietly confident… the tyre noise is
negligible… and wind noise is minimal… the suspension tuned to
perfection… if the rear passenger is below 5′8″ and is not too
horizontally challenged… the back seat should be able to allow a trip to
Penang and a bit more… without giving too much trouble to the back and bum…
Lastly… without wanting to bore all Proton owners and possible owners…
the Lotus tuned suspension is…. exquisite… coupled with the rigid
body… the Savvy is one ideal package for a compact car… the highway
driving is without a doubt.. one of the most precise and confident among
small and mid sized passenger vehicles… Lotus is bringing into Proton
the correct ingredients to become a car manufacturer to be taken
seriously…(If taking into consideration the involvement of TUV and VW in
their operations…)
The winning point about the SAVVY, is definitely “the big car feel”… in
terms of drive and ride quality.. it feels like a mid sized passenger
car… cars twice or 2 & half times its size… and this is a plus when
buying and owning a small car… the feeling of security is something not
easily attainable… but with the Savvy.. Proton did it just right…
Would I recommend the Savvy for a first time car buyer, as the second
car… for the college kid… for the missus… to carry the grocesries
and kids to kindergarten… yes… a big yes…
..because I believe… sometimes… just big space (or illussions of a
big space) is not going to do it… its the feel that you get… its the
confidence derived from a properly engineered vehicle…

My Grandmother was shock to see the Myvvi has a rear like a Sumo Wrestler Bump full of sagging fat. The Japs must have inspire it from the sumo when they make it as a symbol. The bumper needs re-engineering. Just damp ugly when another driver looks from the back. Just imagine a sumo bump with a white loin cloth. yak..yakk.. yak.. the ladies will just lost their desire…uh.
It really doesn’t matter how good is the Savvy.. Lets the result speaks for itselt… How many Savvy have you seen on the road? I think proton is sending a message out to the public, SAVVY, SAVVY, SAV VY, SAVE ME.. Ah that’s more like it..SAVE ME!!!!
i just saw a sick green my (im ugly) viii, driving down jln ampang it really is an horrible looking car. Why are so many people in awe of its design?? BHP, ride and handling along with top speed, the savvy is winning on all fronts. I agree the asthetics of the vehicle are subjective but the rest are facts, go Savvy go…
Mannnn……tested drive this car, its really a great power in the engine. Savvy will be my third carin hand. The body sound tough and mannn u can fell it when u race at the high way. The ladies gave a flying kiss when overtook them, not at me but must be the SAVVY. They must be attracted to the car from outside, and in the interior they might be shock becoz the power is there. Oh…mannn.
Ya lah boleh blah Perodua.. Dahlah isi perut orang punya, badan pun orang punya, ntah-ntah underwear pun orang punya…malulah..dah tu berlagak pulak..
Did you ever drive this Savvy? If not don’t talk cock. Myself already test drive it and you know what..it’s true what TM said, “My first Lotus” Try it and feel it for yourself, you’ll regret for booking Myvi.
Are you sure its Toyota engine? Come on brada, Toyota never give their engine to anybody, only their expertise. Toyota remains Toyota, Daihatsu remains Daihatsu, Perodua remains nothing..
Actually no comparison between Savvy and Myvi, Savvy more to sport car and Myvi more to family mini MPV.
proton lovers fight back but myvi sales still much better than all your argument ha ha ha
p/s l wount be bother by a grand ma comment
it would seem that the savvy lover is a savvy slaesman as he emphasize on the technical part just like what u get on the advertisemaent, the handling , the clarion, the ladies
l wonder why all of the last two savvy review mention the ladies aafter the grandma and the overtook and again ladies, it figures the same man writing all 3 ha ha ha
anyway, my vi figures sales crush your savvy and you should not complain myvi as you are not patrirtic, come join me l bought my myvi and l overtook a old perdana starting form the traffic light ha hah ah
no need you sepandg race track
in case u dont know savvy lover, in japan a sumo wrestler is a respected figure with many pretty slim juicy japanese women queing up for marriage . a sumo earns more than your average person and did u know they are the top tax payers in japan, dont insult a sumo wrestler, they are a symbol of japanese culture and if u see their wive and mistress are very pretty. japanese are proud to marry a sumo as they are natonal pride
get it
I know all of you owner or owner-to-be of MYVI feels regret and dissapointed after reads the ‘Comment on Savvy’ article because they (MYVI owner) did not expect that such a car (Proton Savvy) had a lot of spec than their MySumoBumpvi.
By the way, is it possible that the salesman can test drive a new car at Sepang Circuit? Are you nuts?
Old Perdana ka.. Even my old Tiara can beat that car easily.. I booked Savvy already, wait and see if Myvi can beat Savvy. I’ll let you go 12 sec and see who is touching the line first. Be prepared..the war will begin soon..Fat Ass vs Smart Ass..
I’m writing this is not because of biased to Proton or Perodua. These two companies does not intend to compete each others, they’re both actually are the national car maker/producer/assembler and we must be proud of them. They are not intended to kill each others. So, we people please do not make false statement regarding their credibility. Support them. If you (Malaysian) people keep condemning, do you think that foreign countries would support them? Be an adult person, advice them when they make mistake, not to scold them, every person in this world do makes mistakes, but they learn from their mistakes through advise. Experience gain from mistake.
The main culprit is our new carmaker/assembler/importer. They are the actual killer to our national carmaker. They import vehicles from Korea and China with lower price and sell it also with low price with low quality products but the Goverment protect them. These people you must condemn.
Is it unpatriotic to ask for a failed ‘loyar buruk turned carmaker’ to realise that he is not cut to make cars. You may succeed to get some Malaysia to be patriotic but in the age of globalisation you must be having a very good dream.
Btw, the competition for Proton is not the Korean cars but the locally asembled Japanese car.
Macam Atos VS Kenari lah!!!Kenari more power in low RPM but lack power in high RPM compare with Atos, begitu uga sebaliknya…
LUPA SAYA HENDAK KATAKAN SEMEMANGNYA SAYA MENUNGGU SAVVY R3 AY ADA TIPTRONIC GEAR ATAU SEMI AUTO. lUPA SAYA KAYAKAN JUGA YG KENDERAAN PERODUA AGAK TERUK KUALITINYA BARANGAN GANTIAN KERETANYA JUGA CEPAT ROSAK BERBANDING DGN PROTON.
driving waja for the past few years, all i can say about this proton savvy is that it’s rear looks like the waja’s front. who put waja’s face on savvy’s ass?
HELLO….KAWAN. KUTUK JANGAN SEBARANG KUTUK. KAU ORANG TENGOK JANGAN CAKAP SEBARANG CAKAP. PROTON AND SAVVY…….KAU ORANG TU BUTA CELIK DAN JANGAN NAK PERASAAN SORANG DIRI. PROTON TETAP LEADER IN CAR MANUFACTURING SELAIN PERODUA OR NAZA. KAU ORANG TAHUM ENJIN SAVVY ASALNYA ENJIN RENAULT CLIO. OK LAH KALAU DAH ENJIN DIA JIMAT MINYAK DAN SERVIS SETIAP 10,000 KILOMETER AND LAJU MAKSIMUM STANDARD 170 KILOMETER SEJAM TAK GILA NAMANYA. HELLO MANUSIA YANG BUTA CELIK DAN DUDUK DALAM TEMPURUNG. KAU ORANG ADA MAIN PS 2 TAK. KAU ORANG ADA UBAH SUAI RENAULT CLIO?……HAHAHAHA….E2 TANDANYA KAU ORANG TU BAHALOL YANG SANGAT BODOH. ADA TENGOK PAMERAN DREAMCARS ASIA 2005 DI KUALA LUMPUR CONVENTION CENTRE. MACAMANA RUPA PROTON SAVVY R3. HELLO SIBUTA CELIK KAU ORANG PUNYA MYVVI MAKAN DEBU AND ASAP FAHAM… KAU ORANG NAK TENGOK JUGAK CARI AKHBAR THE MALAY MAIL SEMALAM.
AKU BUKAN APA JANGANLAH NAK KUTUK PASAL KERETA PROTON OR PERODUA KALAU KAU PANDAI SANGAT KENAPA KAU TAK JADI JURUTERA PROTON OR PERODUA….JAWAPANNYA KAU TU MAT JENIN AND MANGKUK AYUN NAK TAHU KAU TANYA BUDAK-BUDAK R3….K JGN MARAH….OK BRO
Car manufacturers are constantly upgrading the technology, design and etc thus giving us choices in the car market.
Choose what you like best. There are brouchers and details available to compare. Salesman are always there to assist and they need to ” cari makan “. From all the gathered info, we evaluate in terms of performance, suitability, affordability and many more. Regret over your purchase is just another result of making decision in a rush. Finally the choice is STILL yours.
Stop making remarks and comparing that would not get one anywhere. I have seen and tested both Savvy and Myvi. I love them and thumbs up for good creation.
Lastly, just imagine there is only ONE car brand and model available in the market. Wonder what would people commend then.
Savvy lovers kept telling how good savvy is and proton got the certification of TUV.
In fact, the true talented m’sian designers are in Perodua instead of Proton. Take a look at Proton (from Waja to Savvy), u cant deny that proton is a copycat always copying the design of previous car.
If you look at the Daihatsu Boon and Perodua Myvi, you will be amazed by how Perodua reinvented and innovated the actual Daihatsu Boon. Just put Savvy and Myvi on the poll of web, I believed that efforts of perodua will gain more supports and recognition from international.
the chief designer of proton explained that the front lamp of savvy was designed based on the eyes of tiger. the back was based of “TRADITIONAL WAU”. Look back at waja, then take a good look at Gen.2, then savvy, don’t u think they have too many similarity?
Besides, please do not forget that PERODUA IS ASSEMBLING TOYOTA CARS. Perodua have got the contract of assemble Toyota cars. Toyota as world’s largest car manufacturer with trillion dollars and assistant of Lexus and F1, requirement of quality will definitely higher. I’m sure TOYOTA certification is the highest qualification of certified a car besides TUV. Perodua gained the recognition!
Since proton ended the partnership with Mitsubishi, they teamed up with GM but until today, no collaboration of technology in proton has been done.
Another question really wonder me, when Campro was revealed, proton waited so long and never told press anything about their newly invented engine with Lotus which is Campro. When Gen.2 was officially launched, Proton should have feel proud of introduction of Gen.2 and their Campro, but seemed like ONLY GEN.2 was the priority, not the CAMPRO. I believed engine is much more important in a car.
Talking about Myvi and Savvy launching, PROTON IS IN DEEP SHIT!
Myvi was having the launching at JW Marriot with lots of celebrity and political people. But Savvy, omg!!! One-U… its alright, the worst is the performers/event manager. What kind of show and message Proton trying to deliver? with stupid dancers on the small stage and damn god, the stage was SUCKS! even the dancing was really sucks! not even, not professional and of cos dressing also sucks!
the truth is only PROTON SALES PERSONS WOULD LOVE SAVVY as they cant do anything if PROTON has came out such an ugly car!
p/S: for those who always claimed that Savvy is better than Myvi you should probably have an eye-test, or maybe you should apply to work in Proton, I believed Proton would recruit person who have no innovation, talents, sense of trend, no integrity, etc.
Toyota Innova is a replacement of Unser.
Just like Proton just came out a Tiara Replacement Model Savvy and going to launch (donno how many n months/years. Proton never kept promises!) Wira and Satria Replacement Model.
Unser really looks like for uncle but at least Innova is stylish! if u use such a big car jus to go market it would be a waste. but if u r rich anough nd affordable to buy innova im sure u will talk differently.
DONT FORGET THE PROTON ARENA AND “100% KERETA MAYAT PROTON JUARA”
u “THINK” Perodua is using Daihatsu engine? YES, IT IS… u cant even confirmed. obviously u r sooo stupid! everyone knew that!
Toyota has gone far in F1. They are still new and do u aware that Toyota is the largest car manufacturer in the world? Even in F1, Toyota provided engine to other team as well.
Besdies, just to remind you, TOYOTA ALREADY DELEGATED AND APPOINTED PERODUA TO ASSEMBLED TOYOTA CARS. Toyota did not provide engine but recognition and improvement to Perodua.
p/s: if renault can provide engine to Proton (Waja 1.8 and Savvy), why toyota cant? It’s just a collaboration. Dn’t u know collaboration can be just done by signing MoU?
Btw, Daihatsu engine is parts of Toyota as well, so what else do u wanna argue?
Nak tanya, rasa nak amik savvy je sebab murah…. rasa2 ok tak kalau amik untuk pegi balik keje jer?
I heard a lot of comment and complain about this Proton Savvy but I never see one of this car on the road so far. Anyone out there who already bought and owned this car, please feel free to make comment/complaint regarding this car because I planning to buy one. I know most of the people out there hate cars from Proton, but what I saw on The Sun’s newspaper (July 13th 2005), the car (Savvy) had already been tested from the TUV groups and it passed all the test. Please don’t compare this car with Perodua Myvi, because I dont want to hear from it (Perodua lovers hates Proton because of the management, not the car itself, I think). All I want to know is whether they (The Sun) tell the truth or biased to the Goverment about that car. To Proton people, please dont do the same mistake as you did to the previous Proton (Tiara, Juara, Arena). It’s already 1 month after the launch, why I haven’t seen one?
I guess they still have problems with the fucking power window..
gila ke ko nie…. pehal pulak underwear masuk skali jadi isu.. agak² underwear ko tu pun pinjam kot… tu yg terasa sgt
alo kawan … proton tu pun bole idup sbb mahathir support, bole le jaga telo mahathir, sama je la enjin pun pinjam jugadan kalau setakat kau tau fakta je buat apa?? beli dulu le, dan lagi satu ko ni nampak jauh lebih bodoh, buta, mati citarasa dan bahalaol yg amat sgt… apa le sgt dlm ps2 tu… ko ni beria macam nak mampus…bukannya ko ada pun renault clio yg betul.. stakat compare dlm game bole le kawan..alah setakat nak upgrade r3 le r4 le … dah abis idea le… kereta byk takde org nak beli… ko ni pun apahal nak marah sgt… ko pun bukannya mampu nak beli renault clio pun.. setakat main game tu … dahle lupakan … ni le org tua mamcam bebudak … akal tarak, kau tu pun bukannya engineer.. dan kalau setakat kau ada kawan kat r3 pun.. kau nak tolong diorg cari makan … tlg minta sedekah .. TOLONG LE BELI KERETA PROTON, AKU PUN NAK CARI MAKAN JUGA !!!!… marah tak marah tapi bila cakap kasar tu kurang hajar le.. aku pun t5ak kutuk ko … so pepaham je la jgn le main asal bole je kutuk org buta celik ke apa… tgk diri dulu, ko tu pun ntah keje apa… sekurang² nya aku pun mekanik … aku tau apa yg aku banding … chow
tm tu jual kereta dia… bole le bagitau mmy first lotus… tapi ko tgk berapa ramai sgt org kat proton yg nak pakai kereta proton… cth gen2.. alo… i knew people who working with production line in proton so get information from them.. so from what i heard some of it is good comment and most of it is bad comment… tq

kalu itu macam manyak olang komen sama itu savvy …wahh macamana wqa mau angkat itu savvy…soma oalng banned itu savvy ..well camna pu wa tetap mau angkat itu savvy mau test power sama itu my vi…ok ka kawan kawan?
yes bro..i agree with u.im waiting for my savy also
OK, Perodua using Daihatsu’s engine, Savvy using Renault’s engine, they’re both entering F1. So, what the f**k are you all people quarelling about? Let people choose whatever their like, Savvy ka.. Myvi ka.. It’s their own choice and their money. You said, Toyota is the largest car manufacturer in the world, but what do you get?, do you get commission from them? Please.. don’t too proud at foreign carmaker. You get nothing from free advertisement..
Hello brother, how old are you? If less than 25 y.o, pls don’t talk shit because the way you are defending Perodua is something that you don’t know about our automotive history. I’ll tell you the history of Proton first, back in the year 1985. Dr.M announced that we will make a car, that is Proton. What people said? “Ya ka?, do they really know how to make cars? Or car that used Milo can for the bodyshell?”. Even Datuk Lat (cartoonist) sketched in The New Straits Times that our first national car use Milo can with attap leaves roof.
Then, the moment we are waiting for, our first national car Proton Saga came out. What people said? “Wah!..nice and good car, did not expect Proton can make good car with Mitsubishi engine some more..”. People starts admiring this car, and those who owned at that time, feel very proud own a first national car and no comment/complaint whatsoever.
Then, came Perodua, the 2nd national carmaker, with its first model, Kancil. What people said? “Aiya! what an ugly car!. But with its fuel economy, people start changing their perspection and suddenly this car was a favourite.
Malaysian people always like that, first condemn it, then love it. Why? If it because of the quality, Proton instructed the TUV inspectors to inspect all the accesories froml their vendors. So, still not satisfied? Do you think that this TUV inspection is a shit, then prove it.
You said Proton always copycat model from other cars? What about Hyundai Sonata and Ssangyong Chairman? Did you see that Sonata copy from Jaguar (I don’t what type) and Ssangyongn copy from Mercedes Benz. For me, they’re both (Proton & Perodua) are not talented car designer (Are you sure that Perodua 100% designed this Myvi?) Perodua assembling Toyota car because they (Toyota) hold half of Perodua’s share, so they (Perodua) became ‘kuli’ to Toyota. That’s why Proton cut the contract from Mitsubishi.
Who cares about copy or reinvent, as long the car is good and value for money (in terms of fuel consumption), people will buy whether its from Proton or Perodua.
Lastly, please don’t proud of foreign carmakers, because we get nothing from them..
well, myvi sales > 40 000
savvy sales < 3000 60 % for the yet to be release auto version, that means only 1200 booking, so sales so poor forced to come up with 350 /month instalment, now the ceo got fired because of poor sales
wake up savvy lovers
did u notice, the savvy back is actually the reverse design of the waja front
good design, just turn around the waja
know what? after reading all about u guy’s comments, i can’t stop laughing. i mean, c’mon. to each his taste alright?
and for those who feel savvy is a cool original design, well, i’d say, proton came up with disastrous results (tiara, juara) but has also achieved good acomplishments with the likes of perdana, iswara, saga. it’s all a shot in the dark really. u can’t please everybody, that’s for sure.
as for those who are complaining of myvi’s backend like amoi pakai skirt kembang, do realise that the myvi is basically a toyota passo. meaning, the engine, etc are based on the toyota passo. yes, including the design.
so to clarify, it’s using the same engine as the toyota avanza. K3-VE if i am not mistaken. with EFI, DVVT and 1.3 twincam 16V. clio engine? i’m not sure about the specs. and you shouldn’t judge how a car performs based on their F1 track record. i mean, c’mon. that’s like saying proton is crap becaues they never won and F1 event?? and that ferrari is the greatest car in the world cos they won it so many times? or that honda is useless now cos they haven’t won since aryton senna’s time?
be realistic, analyse the car for what it is. if you like it, good for you. if you don’t like it , don’t diss it.
i personally like the myvi. why? well, this should explain enough:
Toyota Passo TRD Sports M
http://toyota.jp/customize/passo/trdsportsm/index.html
You prefer Myvi is not because the shape nor the spec, isn’t it? I think it is because you hate Proton so much, that’s it. If Proton produce Myvi and Perodua produce Savvy, which one do you like? Oi brother! I think you still not satisfied with Myvi backside..come on, please be honest..
wan’t me to be brutally honest? yes, if proton produced the my vi as it is, and perodua produced the savvy, i’d still go for the myvi. like i said, i love the shape and the spec. And wat makes you presume that i hate proton so much? i’ve had a iswara for many years, and im my opinion, it’s still one of the better proton cars manufactured.
so before you pass judgement on others, pls reflect on yourself. i’m not here to incite my belief that proton is better than perodua, or vice versa.
like i said, to each his own tastes
I am looking for local bidder whose offer the TRD Bodykit for MYVI and would like to know the offer price.
aku pun bengang ngan geng sokong perodua ni.diorang dah naik ke savvy? aku dah try dua2.smlm baru aku ambik savvy….think about it
go proton go
come on ma…u must be a very keen proton fan man….every car is good ..don fight boys….we will see in the future. But i really hate proton add man… built tough..DAM!!! lets gather ppl and sue Proton. How can they said the car is un-destructable…bladly hell ….sue Proton for millions of dollars….Talk BIG only…until now, only 3000++ savvy is order…
Just saw a savvy drove away and witnessed a big oil spot from where it was parked. TUV inspection? Oil dripping from a NEW CAR? I fear the future …
Savvy will not face the problem like most people said. I have the car since last week and i use it to work now every day. Good handling, stable, fuel jimat, space inside good enough if compare to iswara or wira, dashboard just good for me, material use just like most of the european car- chevolet, citroen….design not that urgly like most poeple said. Airbag/ ABS only the optional item for safety not mean the quality of the car.F1 the most safety race car in the world even dont have airbag and ABS. The car body and stracture is the main thing for maintain the car shape and safety for the driver. It also help in design good suspension application, with tuning by the Lotus I think that is what i feel it with my Savvy now. I enjoy my driving very much. Renualt engine so consistance with Savvy and I just like the gear box which transfer a very smooth power the wheel. You really can feel the picp-up at around 3000 to 4500 rpm. Top speed not yet tested cause the engine still new but at 110km/h still can feel very smooth and comfartable. For people who need actual safety throuht good driving and enjoy driving Savvy is the choice. For those like most trend and good looking design and new technology like DVVT choice Myvi.

From outlook it is ok, but wen u look at the back, hoiyohhhhhhhh
it is really sucks!! i duno how do ppl can get the idea to create the design of the car just like tat, we, as a malaysia felt “very malu”!!
I am a Perodua car owner. Been driving my first car for around 3 years and it never gave me any problems. As what i have heard from the salesman, it’s quality and reliability have proven over time.
Now I am considering over a MyVI and Savvy. I have seen lots of blogs reading over pros and cons. Feels funny over these war of words. I think both marketing dept hav hired lots of people to spread the news (for better or worst)……..lolz
Anyhow, I believe Proton deserve a chance. I love both companies, but Proton management really needs to save the image and confidence of the public before it’s too late. I like the pricing of Savvy, hate the hatch design. Myvi gave a good overall impression but does the “big” bumper match the mini tyre???
Anyhow.. ..I will decide after i test drive both cars. We cannot get a perfect package for this kinda pricing. Let’s accept the fact, if we could afford better cars.. ..we won’t be here comparing and arguing the facts…Hahaha
Happy motoring…Drive safe… …
You know guys I was driving a Kelisa before jumping on to the latest Waja, I would dare say that Perodua is really producing great cars compared to Proton. The only reason I had to sell the Kelisa is due to travelling and also the small CC engine.
Hats off to Perodua for producing the MyVi even though the bumper looks odd but the car is still worth buying compared to the god forsaken Savvy. I wonder why Proton named the car savvy when its not Savvy at all.
Perodua is still producing good and quality cars compared to Proton.
haiyaaa….you all blame Savvy and MyVi for what?
Don’t say anything laaa bros…If you all so terror…hah do design a good one laa for proton and perodua… apa daaa!
If want a better or great car, buy Merces laa..buy BMW laa..Buy helikopter laa…
Don’t kutuk-kutuk orang tak reti design like that….
They know what they do….ok!
da laa aku nak bli savvy…dok gisau nie..cam2 orang kate elok n tak..den konpius cang gini..helpppppppppp meeeee!!!!!
Fantastic car! I Own AMT, It’s such a wonderful car, I urge U guys to try it before saying anything.
Good Luck
SAVVY IS THE WORST LOOKING CAR IN MALAYSIA
SAVVY IS SHITTY SHITTY….
Savvy- superb small car so far, the looks- what the heck…who cares….for those who owned a continental car can appreciate Savvy very well….the look (subjective)
I guess the best Proton car ever made…..I had tested some of proton cars and was dissapointed. Never own a national car before, since I’m looking for a small car and had tested few from the range, Savvy definitely the one…the price, handling, feeling…..
Each person has their own perception on any car…couldn’t blame those who hates savvy…..
Anyone looking for small car, savvy is highly recommended…GO AND TEST THE CAR FIRST BEFORE DECIDING TO OWN ONE….
lastly…did test drive Myvi too before decided to purchase savvy….sorry to say….non comparision to savvy…REALLY!!
“BEAUTY IS NOT ENOUGH” AR
well, proton needs ABS and airbag. and that will be good! just ABS and airbag, im sure proton is good. but, many people said that proton engine were outdated. so, proton needs powerful engine like toyota or GM. owh, when proton release the SRM, i think its like savvy. uotdated engine. kih kih.
i think proton goods for a manager or the milionare. like the prime minister of malaysia.
Hi all, im from Singapore and just ordered a Savvy, seriously, i bought the car as it is cheap and i like the xeterior. interior wise, i dont quite like it as it look plastic to me, but if u put some money to it, it can be perfected e.g leather seats and etc. i havent got my licensed yet, but i purchase the car first as, COE in singapore in going up again. Inshallah, i will pass this april. btw i really want opinion and feedbacks from those who have drove savvy or owns a savvy right now, please give m ur honest feedbacks. Really apprecaiste ur help as im a new driver. U can email me at jacedeal@hotmail.com
Hi,
lol u guys r taken into this war of words too deeply. Chill out.
Id prefer MyVi to Savvy for its wider cabin space, bcos im married, with 2 kids. No love-loss to Proton as my current car is Satria 1.6.
Take them as they are. These cars r made for low/med income ppl like u and me, so what choices do we REALLY have in this class?
What we should really blame is the high tax imposed on imported cars, to save Proton. So, we are pushed to buy Malaysian made cars in such high prices. My sister in the USA bought a Dodge Magnum for USD22k, and that is considered med class car, like a Waja in here la lebih kurang. So, im not bashing the model of cars we r producing locally, but u need to have value for your hard-earn money spent. I couldve been driving a Civic… but i would end up with a MyVi or Savvy (which aint bad cars really).
hello there, this is vince lim
i own savvy amt since 26-dec-05
stratos blue with white wheel rims ( i find it sporty )
before i bought savvy, i had test driven myvi manual
myvi was a good car no doubt
cabin space and height much bigger than savvy
however, i did not experience any “thrill” driving myvi
it was just like any other car i had driven before
( i have driven Honda Civic Ferio and Citroen ZX before )
there was NO FUN FACTOR …
then came the Savvy AMT, and i took it for a spin,
and i L-O-V-E-D the AMT ( especially the manual sequential gear changes
at a flick / touch of the gear stick )
the power to weight ratio was appreciated ( since the Savvy’s body
is not as big as the Myvi )
The Lotus feel factor in handling and suspension really did it for me
Made me feel young again, and driving became a real J-O-Y
as long as the car seats 2 in front and 3 at the back comfortably,
i am okay with it
took the Savvy up Cameron Highlands ( 5 people in it and fully loaded )
and it was a delight trip up hill and downhill too
since 26-dec-05 i have done over 7,000 km thus far
and this car is comfortable for distance drives too
recently, a drunkard came up to me at a junction and kicked at my driver’s
door !!!
he said i was holding up traffic at that time … ???
( long story here )
anyways i kept my cool and did not get out of my car.
when i drove on to a further spot, i stopped and inspected my driver’s side of
the door and expected to see a dent …
what a pleasant surprise … NOTHING at all … the door was just like before
the toughness of the body shell of the savvy really spoke for itself !
I have recently shifted house and when the rear seats are folded back down
and the rear parcel shelf is taken out, I actually managed to transport
the typical metal deckchair, a wooden deck-chair and lots of stuff in the car !
so much for now … gotta sleep lah
cheers

by the way, guys n gals,
when u buy n drive a car …
do u need to always have more than 3 passengers at the rear seats ?
i mean, savvy seats 3 comfortable at the rear
maybe myvi seats more comfortably
maybe myvi can squeeze in 4 at the back …
anyways look around the city in KL
usually a saloon or hatchback seats 3 at back
any more than that,
better buy avanza or other mpv
best of all, do u e-n-j-o-y driving your car ?
if u do … then congratulations … be amongst the 90,000 over
proud myvi owners
as for me ” one man’s meat is another’s man’s poison “
i am me
i decide what i want for myself
i chose savvy amt and i recommend this fun-to-drive car to anyone i know
to me, this is truly my first baby lotus
cheers and happy motoring to u all
dare to be different …
not follow the crowd all the time
take the calculated risk … and enjoy living then
meanwhile, try not to be abusive and use language that
would only lower your self-dignity
dream on …
Aku suka savi!
The rear view of the Savvy looks very much like the front of Waja eh? Proton should have made upright tail lamp to follow the trend. That will also give eas
