How Apple iTunes 5.0 almost ruined my life

An interesting read written by an American blogger who lives in Japan. Although he has no problem reading Japanese, he prefers to have his iTunes to speak english. Unforunately, his installation journey isn’t smooth, and his ultimate solution is to reformat the hard disk and reinstall the OS.

This is a good read. Besides ranting, he is kind enough to tell Apple what the users care, and the solutions. I haven’t seen a rant in such a lenghty post for quite a while.

    Hey! Thanks for the link! Although if I had known so many people were gonna be reading that entry, I would have tried to write it a little bit more carefully - I was trying to imitate how the “pros” do their tech rants, and maybe mine came off a little whiney! (>_< );;

    One thing though - I didn’t have to reformat my hard drive/re-install in the end. For whatever reason, installing the standalone latest version of quicktime fixed whatever was causing the iTunes installation to screw up and I was able to re-install it without reformatting everything. Unfortunately, it still insists on only forcing the Japanese version install, but c’est la vie! At least it works (sort of!)

    Cheers,
