In line with the launch of the new iPods, Apple has also announced iTunes 6.0. Sorry if you have just wasted your time upgrading your iTunes to 5.01 recently.
The new iTunes 6.0 comes with a revamped iTunes store. You can now buy more than 2000 music videos, 5 TV programs from ABC and Disney and 6 Pixar short films. All for $1.99 each.

An interesting read written by an American blogger who lives in Japan. Although he has no problem reading Japanese, he prefers to have his iTunes to speak english. Unforunately, his installation journey isn’t smooth, and his ultimate solution is to reformat the hard disk and reinstall the OS.
This is a good read. Besides ranting, he is kind enough to tell Apple what the users care, and the solutions. I haven’t seen a rant in such a lenghty post for quite a while.

This is the continuation of my previous post. Is the gadget shown in this picture the much speculative iPod Nano? Epic Empire seems to be the first to show it, and I’m not sure whether it’s a fake.
According to Think Secret, it has the following specs:
To further the size savings, the new iPod mini will sport a color screen that’s slightly smaller than the current version. Sources say the screen will measure 1.467 inches, down from 1.67 inches, but will feature a higher resolution: 176 x 132, up from 138 x 110, as Think Secret reported in February. It’s likely, while uncertain, that the iPod mini’s scroll wheel will also see a small reduction in size.
Pricing is not entirely clear, but the new 4GB and 6GB models may remain priced at $199 and $249, respectively, while the 8GB iPod mini could cost as much as $299. At that price the 8GB iPod mini would cost as much as a 20GB iPod, but Apple reportedly is not worried that equivalent pricing will affect sales of the iPod mini as sales of the full-size iPods have lagged far behind iPod minis in recent quarters.
Think Secret seems to be a more reputable source, and the claimed 176 x 132 screen just doesn’t match the picture.
We’ll see.
Kevin Rose, the former TechTV nerd says he knows what is going to be unveiled by Apple tomorrow. I am reproducing it here verbatim (and highlight the words that make you excited).
New Products:
- Cingular will announce an iTunes compatible phone - the “Rocker”
- New 2GB ipod called the “Nano” - it will sport a color screen and will be much smaller and thinner than a mini. Price = $199
No video ipod.. You heard it here first.
By the way, the logo I used is by a desinger who speculates how the new iPod Nano is going to look like. You can view his work here.
Doom, the first person shooting game that started it all, has been ported to iPod.
One caveat: you have to make use of the existing buttons to maneuver, which can be very difficult.
