A brand new start

I used to blog at www.visa.com.my for the past year. Yeah, nice name, but the credit card company sent a harsh legal letter claiming that I had infringed their trademark, and they wanted the domain back. Although I’d very much like to argue, but it’s extremely costly to defend yourself in court, and this is especially true if you are dealing with mamommth companies like the credit company in question. So I let it go.

So, this is blewtooth reporting to you that I’m back, at another domain.

I bought this domain (start.com.my) some times back, and I have turned it into a community yellow pages project which uses Wiki as the underlying technology. This lets anyone edit the contents as they see fit.

Now, don’t tell me I am likely to infringe another trademark because a very popular operating system has used the word “start” in one of its buttons.

Enjoy your stay!

Welcome back :) If at all there is a company that names itself start, I think it should be a crime. :P Though product name might be a problem.

hmm.. in my opinion, drupal is much more powerful than wp, and since i have good experience running a blog site with drupal before, i installed one here without even a second thought. :)

Sorry to hear about your domain. You should have sold it to them for a price to settle the problem.

Hey mate, I’ve just been hit a potential lawsuit from some folks representing Wired magazine in the US.

Btw, I need some advice from you… what were you thinking at that moment.. fight on or let go?
